If it is a 200V charge, it may not be able to charge it if it is

The new Nissan LEAF G (ze1) is riding a white/blue two-tone. When I went on a trip with my family in the summer, I couldn't charge it at a hotel that would charge me an EV.

The reason is that the outlet that makes me use it was 100V, so the normal charge of the
leaf is usually 200V, 3kw. There is also a charging cable of 100V, but this is an optional treatment, and the price is reasonably high.

It might be natural that I was not able to charge it at the hotel.

Japanese outlet is basically 100V. If the output is a large cooler or a vacuum cleaner for business use, I think that 200V may be used, but it is usually 100V.

still think about how to charge EVs, but it may be a bit of a hurdle for hotels to provide us with a 200V outlet
.

I bought a cable that converts from 100V to 200V.

So, in preparation for the opportunity to charge at 100V in the future, we decided to prepare a 100V charging cable.

I thought a little about buying a genuine 100V cable of Nissan, but the price of the genuine cable for 7.5m, 100V is a whopping 57,888 yen

. When i'm looking at Amazon or Yafuoku, it seems that the conversion cable which takes the power from the outlet of 100V and connects it to the cable of 200V is sold.

the 200V charging cable attached to the new leaf seems to be able to cope with 100V in the first place as long as the shape of the outlet is matched.

tsubo, and after all, I bought a cable that converts from 100V to 200V.

one side is for 200V, and the place where the plug is inserted like this is arranged in a horizontal feeling.
this, you can plug the 200V plug of the leaf.

the length of the charging cable that came with the leaf is 7.5m, so the conversion cable is short 35cm in length.

Try to take the power of the 200V charging cable from 100V

I bought a conversion cable so that it could enter the mouth of a 100V outlet.
, but when i actually needed it, I couldn't actually use it. I can't help feeling sad when it comes to
things like that

. So, I don't need to charge at 100V at home, but I'll try to charge it properly.

First of all, I will insert the plug of the 200V charging cable attached to the leaf into the conversion cable to 100V that I bought this time.

Oh, I was hooked firmly!
was a cable that sells waterproofing, but this, feeling firmly hooked is a little pleasant .

And plug the 100V side of the conversion cable into a 100V outlet on the wall of the house.
Next to the left is a 200V outlet for EV charging, but this time it is inserted into the outlet of 100V for 100V experiment.

This 100V outlet is for outdoor use, and because it is a type that can be twisted and fixed after insertion, there seems to be no worry that the plug comes off.

I was able to charge at 1.1kw!

So let's actually start charging the leaf.
around the leaf and plug it into the normal charge.

Then, after confirming that the charging has started, and turn on the main switch of the leaf,

Oh!!
It was displayed on the lcd meter of 1.1kW and the leaf properly!

Indeed, it seems to take time when it is a charge of 100V.
Currently, the battery is still at 9%, but it takes 14 hours to charge up to 50%.
charge up to 100% at least 24 hours

However, I think that this speed is enough if I usually charge it at night at a hotel when I go on a trip.
In the evening, we went back to the hotel and ate rice, and then we had breakfast the next day before we left! If it is a pattern of
, you can lightly park the car for more than 12 hours and charge it.

For example, if you charge from the remaining 30% of the battery, it will recover up to about 80%, so it is a feeling that is completely no problem!

By the way, if you charge 3kW at 200V, even the remaining 10% of the battery, it is a calculation that can charge up to 100% in about 11 hours.
I realized that 200V is amazing after all.

now, I was able to confirm that i can charge even 100V safely!
if there is a place where 100V can be charged at the hotel again, I wonder if it will play an active part.

conversion cable to 100V, because it is not bulky if it is short, I will always load it on the leaf with a normal charging cable.
this sense of security that can be charged at 100V when something is wonderful.
recommended!
